Cup ‘n’ Saucers

Ingredients:

12 Tic Toc Biscuits (I can only ever buy them at Coles, Woolworths don’t seem to keep them in stock)

Cup 'n' Saucers
Cup ‘n’ Saucers

12 Marshmallows

12 Chocolate Freckles

6 Musk Lifesavers (again, you’ll find them at Coles)

1-2  Tbl Icing Sugar

Splash of Milk

Directions:

Mix you Icing Sugar with just enough milk to make a stiff paste.

Line up your Tic Toc Biscuits on a work bench.

Dip the smaller end of your marshmallows into the icing and place marshmallow on the centre of your tic toc biscuit.  This marshmallow is your cup.  For some reason one end of the marshmallow is slightly smaller than the other, so if you make the smaller end the base of your cup and the wider end the top of your cup it looks like a real cup.

Now, repeat this process with all of your marshmallows.

Take one chocolate freckle and using a knife or spoon place a small dollop of icing on the chocolate side of your freckle then place it on top of your marshmallow.  Repeat with remaining freckles.

Cut each life saver in half.  These will be your handles.  Take one half and dip both ends in the icing and stick onto the side of a marshmallow.  And “Wulla!”  You have a cup and saucer!

Notes:  Be careful not to use so much icing that it leaks out everywhere, you just want enough to glue your cup and saucer together.

I find the easiest way to cut life savers in half is to take a sharp knife and lay it over the centre of the life saver and give the blunt side of the blade (which should be the top) and sharp blow with my flat palm.  This gives you a clean cut and the life saver doesn’t crumble to pieces.  But be very, very careful when dealing with sharp knives!  And preferably do this when there are no children around.
