\u00a0It doesn\u2019t really matter because this dish is YUM! \u00a0I served it over fried rice, but if you were having a party you could serve the chicken pieces on a platter with the sauce beside it in a bowl. \u00a0And even though it looks like a lot of steps, it\u2019s really simple and quick to prepare. \u00a0And I had most of the ingredients already in my pantry, all I had to do was duck out and grab a couple of fresh limes. \u00a0A great weekend meal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shanghai Wings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"zlrecipe-ingredients\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC00289-001.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2329\" title=\"Shanghai Chicken Wings 2\" src=\"http:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC00289-001-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC00289-001-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/DSC00289-001.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul id=\"zlrecipe-ingredients-list\">\n<div id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-0\"><strong>Sauce<\/strong><\/div>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-1\">1 1\/4 C Water<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-2\">1 Tbl Cornflour<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-3\">3\/4 C Brown Sugar<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-4\">1\/4 C Soy Sauce<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-5\">2 Tbl Fresh Ginger, minced<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-6\">1 tsp Garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-7\">2 tablespoons lime juice<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-8\">1 Tbl Lemon Juice<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-9\">1\/4 tsp Crushed Chilli Flakes<\/li>\n<div id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-10\"><strong>Chicken<\/strong><\/div>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-11\">Oil for frying<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-12\">1kg Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts cut into large chunks<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-13\">1 C Plain Flour<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-14\">2 tsp Salt<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-15\">1\/2 tsp Pepper<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-16\">1\/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-17\">1\/4 tsp Paprika<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-18\">1 Egg<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-ingredient-19\">1 C Milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"zlrecipe-instructions\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol id=\"zlrecipe-instructions-list\">\n<div id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-0\"><strong>Chicken<\/strong><\/div>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-1\">Cut chicken into chunks and chill while you are making the sauce.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-2\">Heat oil in large saucepan or skillet.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-3\">Combine dry ingredients and place in shallow bowl for dipping.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-4\">Combine egg and milk and place in shallow bowl for dipping.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-5\">Dip chicken chunks into flour mixture, then into egg mixture, and back into flour mixture.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-6\">Fry chicken until golden brown.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-7\">Place on paper towel to drain.<\/li>\n<div id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-8\"><strong>Sauce<\/strong><\/div>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-9\">In a small saucepan, combine water and cornflour and whisk until dissolved.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-10\">Add the rest of ingredients.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-11\">Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 \u2013 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li id=\"zlrecipe-instruction-12\">Coat chicken with sauce.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Original Source: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pocketchangegourmet.com\/shanghai-wings-and-our-menu-plan\/\">http:\/\/pocketchangegourmet.com\/shanghai-wings-and-our-menu-plan\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have\u00a0Pocket Change Gourmet to thank for this great little recipe. \u00a0I\u2019m not sure why it\u2019s called Shanghai Wings because you use Chicken Breasts, maybe it\u2019s the way they slice the chicken. \u00a0Who knows!
