Soda<\/p>\n<p>Icing, smarties and lollies to decorate<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Preheat your oven to 180\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Cream the butter and brown sugar together using an electric beater.<\/p>\n<p>Add egg yolk and golden syrup and mix until combined.<\/p>\n<p>Add the flour, ginger, mixed spice and bicarb soda and stir to combine.\u00a0 It might look a bit crumbly, but don\u2019t worry \u2013 it works!<\/p>\n<p>Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth.<\/p>\n<p>Roll into a disc shape and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.<\/p>\n<p>Place cold dough onto a piece of baking paper and then cover with another piece of baking paper \u2013 using a rolling pin, roll out the dough and cut out with desired shapes (kids can help here) re-roll as needed, but keep using the baking paper.<\/p>\n<p>Move the cut shapes over to greased baking trays with a spatula\/egg flip and bake for 8-10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Once baked, let cool for 10 minutes on the tray and then transfer to cooling rack.<\/p>\n<p>Sources: \u00a0Taste.com.au and Kidspot.com.au<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Ingredients: 125g Butter, softened 1\/2 Cup Brown Sugar, packed 1\/2 Cup Golden Syrup 1 Egg Yolk 2 1\/2 Cups Plain Flour 1 Tbl Powdered Ginger 1 tsp Mixed Spice 1 tsp Bicarb.
