{"id":3133,"date":"2013-04-10T12:04:06","date_gmt":"2013-04-10T02:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/plate4eight.com\/?page_id=3133"},"modified":"2013-04-10T12:04:06","modified_gmt":"2013-04-10T02:04:06","slug":"chocolate-caramel-slice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/plate4eight.com\/?page_id=3133","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate Caramel Slice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/plate4eight.com\/?attachment_id=2953\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2953\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2953\" alt=\"Chocolate Caramel Slice\" src=\"http:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/tn-300x223.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/tn-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/plate4eight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/tn.jpg 642w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Base:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2\/3 Cup Plain Flour<\/p>\n<p>2\/3 Cup Dessicated Coconut<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed<\/p>\n<p>90g Butter, melted<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>395g Can Sweetened Condensed Milk<\/p>\n<p>2 Tbl Golden Syrup<\/p>\n<p>50g Butter, melted<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>150g Milk Cooking Chocolate, melted (I wanted a thick top, so I think I used more like 250g!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 180C conventional or 160C fan-forced.<\/p>\n<p>Grease and line a 20cm square cake pan or a slice tin with baking paper, extending 3cm above sides.<\/p>\n<p>Place all base ingredients in a medium bowl and mix to combine.<\/p>\n<p>Press mixture into base of prepared pan.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.<\/p>\n<p>Set aside to cool.<\/p>\n<p>Place all filling ingredients into a medium saucepan and stir continuously with a wooden spoon over a moderate heat for 10 minutes or until thick and pale golden.<\/p>\n<p>Spread filling over cooled base.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 6-8 minutes or until filling begins to brown around the edges.<\/p>\n<p>Cool, then refrigerate for 2 hours.
