Moroccan Burgers

Ingredients:

Burger Patties:

500g  ground beef or lamb
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T cilantro, chopped (I usually leave this out as I don’t have it often)
1/2 t cumin
1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t cayenne pepper
2 T tomato paste
salt to taste

Yoghurt Sauce:

1 cup Greek yoghurt
1/2 cup thinly sliced cucumber
1 clove garlic minced
2 T fresh mint leaves, minced
1 T lemon juice

 

Directions:

To make the beef patties, combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well to make sure you don’t have seasonings that clump up.  Grill or panfry until desired doneness.

Sauce:  Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, serve as a dipping sauce or topping for the burgers.
